Mets outlast Angels, win 7-6 in 13

After surrendering a 3 run lead in the bottom if the ninth, Anthony Recker put the Mets(5-6) ahead for good with a solo blast in the top of the 13th inning in Anaheim, Ca.
Jose Valverde pitched the ninth inning in hopes of preserving a very good performance by Jon Niese(7-2/3 ip, 3er, 5so, 1bb), but gave up a 3 run blast to Raul Ibanez.
Lucas Duda, designated hit for the first time this year and hit his 3rd homer of the year off Angels starter Jered Weaver on a full count 87mph fastball.
Omar Quintanilla starting fir Ruben Tejada also had a good game, driving in a pair if runs.
John Lannan, easily had his best outing with 2 perfect innings in relief for his first win if 2014.
Todays rubber game is a 3:35 EST start, with Bartolo Colon facing C.J. Wilson.
Mets are 3-2 on this road trip. After today they fly to Arizona for 3 more before returning home Friday.
