Mets: Duda fifth outfielder

With Ike Davis to be in spring training with the Mets, the chances of Lucas Duda seeing much time at first base seems grim. Being that he too is a left handed bat, if their becomes a platoon at first base that candidate would likely be the right handed hitting Josh Satin.
As reported by Adam Rubin of ESPN, Mets GM, Sandy Alderson said, “As of today, I would expect Lucas to get some time in the outfield, but that will be decided just before spring training,” Alderson said.
Duda hit.223 with 15 homers 33 rbi and a .352 obp… Maybe, a solid spring can garner interest from an american league team, since he will come cheap, young and still has potential to be a consistent bat, but is limited at best in the field.
Duda has a minor league option and can be used as a DH during the Mets 3 games in Anaheim in the middle of April.
